Rhode Island Comic Con 2016 a HUGE success!

The Rhode Island Convention center and the Dunkin Donuts center teamed up this past weekend to host New England`s largest annual event known as Rhode Island Comic Con! Providence Rhode Island was jam packed with tens of thousands of fans who came out for this annual event. The city was full of energy and businesses were booming with all of the extra patrons in town.

Rhode Island Comic Con isn't just a success, it`s a success for the entire city of Providence and state of Rhode Island. Many fans come out several days early and enjoy what Providence has to offer in the way of entertainment and dining.
Hundreds of vendors filled both buildings all weekend long with a slew of merchandise to offer to the fans. Everything from t shirts to comic books, artwork to action figures, Legos to funko pops and everything in between. Wild Bill`s soda truck was in the house which is always a huge hit. Fill one of their collectible cups for $20 and receive free refills during your stay!
There was a rock wall if you were up to the challenge for fans who enjoy rock wall climbing. Longtime puppeteer Bill Diamond from Jim Henson company was on hand with a bunch of his original puppets on display. These puppets are one of a kind and were used in TV and movies such as Fraggle Rock, Gremlins and even Dark Crystal.

Some of the famous tv and movie cars were on hand for display such as the Bat Mobile which was used in Batman Returns! Also on hand Herbie the love bug, The delorean from Back to the Future, The original Bat Mobile (Adam West era), The Jurassic Park jeep and many more.
Cosplayers were out in full force dressing as their favorite characters including many original creations. There was even a cosplay contest on the top floor to determine who had the best costume.
Both Friday and Saturday evening included an official Rhode Island Comic Con after party. Friday night party was a bit slow but Saturday brought in nearly 300 people!
If you`re a fan of celebrities, this was the place to be as it was indeed a who`s who of talent compiled at this mega event! Fans were able to meet the likes of Christian Slater (actor), Gal Gadot (Wonder Woman /actress), Jeffrey Dean Morgan (actor), Billy Dee Williams (actor), Stan Lee (creator of the Marvel universe), Jason David Frank (actor), Dennis Haskins (actor), Amy Jo Johnson (actress), Frank Grillo (actor), Alice Cooper (musician) just to name a few!!!

There were several pro wrestlers on hand signing autographs and taking photos with the fans as well including "The Nature Boy" Ric Flair, Aaron Rex, Howard Finkel, Gail Kim, Christy Hemme, Ricky "The Dragon" Steamboat, The Godfather, Kelly Kelly, Melina, Billy Gunn, Hornswoggle, Jake "The Snake" Roberts and the ladies of GLOW wrestling.
Rhode Island Comic Con has grown each year and truly an event to look forward to all year round. This was their 5th anniversary and what an amazing experience it was!
