Fun at Fenway

Latino Xfinity family festival 2016 is now behind us and what a successful event it was! Thousands of locals filled Fenway Park in Boston, Massachusetts for a day filled with fun for the whole family. There were vendor booths set up as far as the eye could see giving away a slew of free items to the public. UFC featherweight star Brian Ortega was in the house signing autographs and taking photos for fans. Brian was a pleasure to speak with and very easy going. Cheerleaders representing the Boston Celtics were also on the scene taking photos with the fans. There were also some familiar faces of Telemundo TV on hand taking photos and signing autographs.

Live music on the field, perfect weather and great food were just some of the perks of being at this great event. However the highlight were the LIVE pro wrestling matches which took place inside of Fenway park that day from 11am-3:30pm. This was an historical event to be apart of as it was the first time pro wrestling had been inside Fenway park since 1969. The last time pro wrestling was at the park back in 1969, it was headlined by Bruno Sammartino vs. Killer Kowalski.

The two most important figures in the New England wrestling scene over the years have certainly been the late "Boston Bad Boy" Tony Rumble and the late great Walter "Killer" Kowalski. You knew on this day that they were certainly looking down from the skies with big smiles knowing that pro wrestling had come back home to Fenway park. Both Walter "Killer" Kowalski and "Boston Bad Boy" Tony Rumble were such a massive part of the New England wrestling scene and very instrumental to many who have entered the business over the years. Both are New England pro wrestling Hall of Famers and many who they have trained over the years were apart of the event this past weekend.

A special thanks to Dante Luna for orchestrating this whole wrestling event at Fenway park and to Beau Douglas among others who kept it going smooth throughout the day. Cosplayers from the Comic Con world were also on hand through out the day and even got involved in the wrestling show which made for some interesting family fun.
